Passport 4000 is an extensible, modular system which uses distributed processes and industry-standard components, enabling developers to expand or add to its capabilities:
The Passport 4000 core layer handles all message processing and queuing. All message details are held in SQL databases, providing a solid foundation and flexible reporting. Full message content, including archived messages, are stored in files on the company LAN, SAN or WAN.
The Passport 4000 communication layer handles all communications. It can be remote, extending over different geographical areas, and contains only the modules configured for your system.
A range of distributed services for additional message processing features are available. Communicating via COM+, these can be installed on one or more platforms or virtual machines for load balancing and increasing performance.
User applications for message handling and system management can communicate with Passport 4000 via MMC, COM+ or the Passport PCC module.
